Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great chair...took it home from the store on Monday. I had an original zero-gravity recliners when they first came out. The chair was a manual unit and finally gave out last fall. I have had two back surgeries and I spent many nights sleeping in the chair because it was the only place I could get relief from the pain. When I sat in this chair Monday, it was love at first sit! I now have electric controls and the added adjustments to the lumbar and cervical padding is great. Love this chair!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality for the Price. Easy to Operate. Unbelievably comfortable. Feels like I'm floating away. Just the right amount of support and the ability to fine-tune the angle of the back and the footrest with the two controls is nice. The workmanship seems very high and they have a good warranty.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as comfortable as the store modelit's I fell in love with the Luma recliner as it literally fixed my sore back as I sat in the zero gravity position in the store. Unfortunately what arrived wasn't nearly as comfortable. The lumbar support cushion is completely inadequate. You place it under the memory foam but that's it - it's not truly adjustable and is so thin that it makes no difference under the much thicker memory foam. And the lumbar support is what is really bothering me. The headrest is adjustable but it's so stiff that I literally have been hurting my arms and shoulders trying to adjust it. Honestly, the memory foam seems to be a lower density than what I tried in the store, assuming it's actually memory foam. Usually memory foam is stiffer and takes time for your body to sink in. This doesn't behave that way at all - it really seems more like a cheap poly foam and not memory foam (and definitely not a high resiliency foam). All-in-all I wish I hadn't bought it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this chair! I bought this chair about 4 years ago and can not imagine my life without it. I had a spinal fusion 33 years ago and now have arthritis and severe disc degeneration. This is the only chair I can get comfortable in. I love the fact that the feet and the head are separately controlled so you can adjust it to precisely what suits you. A lot of recliners when the feet go up, the head goes back, so you can't read comfortably or watch TV. But this one you can have your feet all the way up and still have the head up so you aren't looking at the ceiling. As far as the negative comments, the neck rest pillow is a little thin. I don't have a cervical problem so it's fine for me but I think someone with a neck issue might like a bigger pillow there. It was a little hard to adjust the height of the neck area at first, but I only did it once since I'm the only one who uses this chair. When I bought mine, it came in leather or hemp fabric. I chose the fabric because I don't like the coldness of leather when you first sit down. The hemp fabric is wearing great, no problems with it, even where my dog sometimes puts her big feet up on the side. Her claws have not made a mark or tear, it's very well made. But the fabric is a little scratchy on my arms. If I'm not wearing long sleeves, I wrap a blanket around my arms. At first I thought the memory foam wasn't soft enough, but now it's fine to me, I think too much foam might make it not have enough support. I have had no mechanical issues with the motors. This was one of the best purchases I've ever made in my life. I have recommended to a lot of my friends with back problems to go to a Relax the Back store and check it out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Best chair I have ever sat in I am 5'4 and this chair fits my size perfectly. Since lumbar disc surgery managed to increase my lower back pain, this is the only place I sit at home. It is not the greatest chair to sit upright in, but, reclined, it eases the pain in my back and gives me great relief. In fact, I usually fall asleep in this chair, and can't wait to sit in it...ok, I just about live in this chair. I have no lumbar support issues like another reviewer, but I know there is an inflatable lumbar pillow that was given to me and put inside the chair when I bought it. For someone with chronic pain, the automatic controls make getting in and out, and getting comfortable, easy...without any stress on my back. I had my eye on this chair for nearly a year before I bought it because of the expense, but I haven't looked or regretted it once.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Different approach. I want to call this a tippy chair because the seat and the back move together, just as though someone was tipping an ordinary chair over backwards. Leg support swings out independently. The end result is far more comfortable than conventional recliners that fail to recognize that a person's back is directly connected to their legs. I have some lower back pain and my wife has severe sciatica. We've been shopping recliners for a while and found them all lacking in comfort and back support until we discovered these. We bought two of them and while they weren't cheap, we expect to recoup the investment in reduced medical expenses. We've spent more on chiropractics, massage therapy, physical therapy, acupuncture, X-rays, MRIs, and orthopedic doctors over the last few years, and the long term possibility of needing surgery might very well be avoided by employing the amazing back support these chairs provide. Now we can watch TV without feeling like we're being self-destructive.
