Insurance and Third Party Payors

Although Relax The Back is a retail store and not a medical equipment company, we can help you with insurance claims and related paperwork. We are not providers for insurance and third party payors, but we are happy to provide documentation that can help you to receive reimbursement from your insurance company for your purchases.

To better serve you, we offer help on Letters of Medical Necessity.

What is a Letter of Medical Necessity?

A Letter of Medical Necessity is a letter a physician sends to an insurance company stating how and why a particular item is truly necessary for medical reasons. Patients often request these when they need equipment or furniture to help them recover, heal, or provide relief from medical conditions. Products like these are called Durable Medical Equipment, and insurance companies are much more likely to cover them with a Letter of Medical Necessity.

Although we strive to serve all our clients needs, we cannot contact insurance companies on our clients' behalf. Due to confidentiality issues, most insurance companies will not share information with Relax The Back, only with the member or the health care provider.

However, if you plan on calling the insurance company to see if products are covered under your benefit plan, we are happy to provide you with a Letter of Medical Necessity. The letter contains a list of therapeutic benefits that you can use when discussing medical benefits with your case manager.
