This is a splendid chair. Well designed, study and good looking. With a 30+ year old fused back, I can attest to knowing a comfortable chair versus just speculating. While I would not categorize this as "cushy" or couch-like - it does exactly what it should do to support and relax the body. I am 60 years old and had an L5 S1/S2 fusion when I was 19. Over time, though I have been fine, my lumbar doesn't react well to the lack of flexibility - so it's easy for me to pull my back way into a bad space. this chair allows me to settling into a very ergonomically correct position, and rest up. even for an hour at a time, the relief of being "off" my feet affords tremendous recuperation. Simple thing, yet it works, for me. I find using it at 75% or so rocked back position is a perfect blend for reading or catching a movie. All the way back is very relaxing but is not a position to be used if you wish to interact with anyone. Oddly, the web page asserts the headrest as "articulating". It does NOT articulate, and there is nothing included in the package to support the claim. Clever little bookshelf, believe it or not, along the back side of the base. Smart design.
