Relax The Back® is the nation’s largest specialty retailer of products that relieve and prevent neck and back pain. We offer everything from simple back braces, support cushions and hot and cold packs to elaborate Shiatsu-style massage chairs, Tempur-Pedic® pillows and mattresses, ergonomic office chairs, and Zero Gravity recliners.

Our associates are specially trained to fit you with products that can improve your posture and relieve most common problems that contribute to back pain such as spinal stenosis, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, multiple sclerosis, pinched nerves, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis and more. We work with many medical professionals who refer their patients to us to help solve their postural challenges.

My husband and I purchased two chairs, from Paul M. at the Naperville store.
He was a terrific guy with whom to do business -- personality, sincerity, and extremely knowledgable when talking with my husband (who suffers from bad knees and shoulders; but  mainly a bad back) regarding "just the right chair" both for his size and his "issues".  It was also important
that he could get in and out of the chair with minimal effort.

I must tell you, Paul has the patience of a saint.  He was so NICE to deal with;  I felt as though we were making a purchase from a friend who really wanted to help us out. He reiterated again, and again if we had any questions, or any problems at all with the chair to please call him.

It was about two momths after we bought the chair that it started sounding and feeling like it was breaking down.  My husband called Paul, who was disappointed to hear that there was a possible problem but assured us that he would come by to check it out.  Honestly, we figured this would be a battle (as we have found to be the case more often than not when trying to resolve "any issues" with "anything" these days).  We were pleasantly surprised that he was at our house in a matter of a day or two.  I have never been more pleased with the service; with his
decisiveness, with his being so much more than just accommodating.

We will be receiving a new chair.  I know this because we were kept advised, by e-mail from Paul the very same day he was here.  AMAZING!!!

Joe, I don't know if it's your company policy or your salesman who deserves the credit.  In any case, we find it only fair to applaud Paul.  You are fortunate to have him on your staff.  My husband and I are both retired professional people who realize that a company is only as good as
their personnel.  You surely have a winner there.  He's one in a million as far as we're concerned.

Ergonomic Chairs and Bed Reduced My Back Pain

Just wanted you to know how please we were with his salesmanship but more so on your products (chair and beds that have improved / lessened the pain in my back). Paul’s attention to detail is uncommon.  I know because that is the kind of work I do – detail work and followup work.
 
He visited our home several times to see how the furniture would look and work in the home. Then when there was an issue with mattresses being mismatched (as we had two kinds of beds / mattress heights he stopped by and solved the problem with some frame adjusters.
 
Anyway you have a capable sales and service guy there. Hope all your staff is half as good.

Discuss the diagnosis or symptoms

We talk to the patient about his / her diagnosis or specific back or neck pain symptoms. Our staff consultants are not clinicians, but are trained in basic spinal health and anatomy issues. When a patient says she has fibromyalgia, for instance, our employees understand what that means and how to match that person with products that address specific needs. We have products to help with the most common spinal health issues including ankylosing spondilitis, arthritis, degenerative disc disease, fibromyalgia, herniated discs, multiple sclerosis, nerve pressure/ pinched nerves, osteoporosis, pregnancy related back pain, sciatica, spinal cord injury, spinal stenosis, spondylosis, spondylolisthesis, sprains and strains and whiplash.

Discuss lifestyle issues
The spinal support needs of a person who spends each day at a computer are very different from someone who stands at an assembly line. We are trained to find spinal support products that are appropriate for each person’s workplace or lifestyle. We do not diagnose or offer medical treatment. Each Relax The Back employee goes through a basic training program when hired, followed by a more comprehensive spinal health training program on a variety of medical conditions, tests, and treatments. Only after successfully completing this training does the employee earn the title of “Spinal Health Product Consultant.”

Customized Fit
Most Relax The Back products are available in many sizes or with multiple adjustments. For example, cervical pillows are custom-fitted based on the person’s body type and sleep position. Office chairs have up to 11 adjustments for precise spinal alignment and positioning. Zero Gravity recliners can move into infinite positions for comfort, enhanced circulation, and pressure relief.

Effective spinal support products — not gadgets

Products go through a rigorous evaluation process before being approved for our stores. Relax The Back products must meet stringent ergonomic standards, and represent quality, comfort and durability.

Product selection – Not all products are appropriate for all patients. Clients are encouraged to seek advice from their health care providers if there is a concern about the effect of any product on their medical conditions.

Insurance
Relax The Back is a retail store, not a medical equipment company, and products may or may not be covered by third party payors. However, we are happy to provide documentation to assist patients with possible insurance reimbursement or as a medical expense for tax purposes. The products may also be purchased via most Flexible Spending or Medical Savings Accounts.

Confidentiality
Patients have the option of giving Relax The Back their name and address information for future mailings and special offers. These names are not shared with any other entity. Any communication with your office regarding referred patients will be handled confidentially.
