This desk is a great option if you find sitting at a desk hard on your back, regardless of the chair. I've tried almost every kind of chair / kneeler / stool and the simple fact is that my back can't handle sitting upright for long periods of time. The ability to change the desk height with a push of the button is the key. Standing all day is difficult. With this desk I start my day standing. I keep a chair nearby and when I need to sit I lower the desk. Frequently I stand and rest a knee on the seat of the chair to take the weight off a foot for a while. An adjustable swivel chair on wheels works great as you can move it around to fit your needs. The adjusting height is also great for changing arm positions for typing. The variation keeps the repetitive motion problems to a minimum. The only shortcoming is the lack of drawers. There is no place to store small work items, such as scissors, except on the desk top. With a fragile back, stooping over to reach a small file cabinet is not a desireable solution. A nearby set of shelves with drawers within arms reach seems to be the best alternative.

We purchased this desk from the Holladay, UT store and it has been great. However the switch on it broke then it came unsoldered and we have been unable to get anyone to help us get a new switch. So hopefully if you purchase one and it breaks, you will have better luck than us to get it fixed!

Why is there no foot bar... How can you "relax your back" without this feature... Prolonged standing requires putting one foot up, and then the other, both to shift weight from leg-to-leg, and to relieve lower back stress, by assisting the natural lordosis of the lower back. If bars and pubs have known this for several hundred years, why doesn't this vendor demonstrate knowledge of that crucial design detail.... That this vendor would fail to provide such a feature seems particularly surprising, given their trade name / brand name.

Note...that any image you see of the desk you WILL NOT see any power cords to the attached computer, phones or lamps. There is a real problem with attaching power to this unit. While it is a great idea...it is not practical. I wish I had thought about that before I bought one.

the switch is a piece of junk at least their little flip mechanism on it is, and it will break the wire(s) going to the circuit board inside of it. i would recommend unscrewing the switch and flipping it upside-down and screwing new holes putting it under the desk and out of the way. you do not want to break the wires, for it is a pain to fix.

I love this desk!! I use it in addition to my regular desk and now I stand approximately 75% of the day. There has been no problem whatsoever with the power cord, up and down switch (operates smoothly) or any other aspect. I have a separate computer monitor on this and it's linked to our network and with a wireless mouse and keyboard can move back and forth in my office. It's taken a lot of pressure off my back. I do use a foot rest which is sold separately and this helps keep my posture supported and aligned.
