I am not sure if it is psychological or truly that beneficial but I do not feel as lazy when I sit at my desk now. I love it. I think it works and it definitely helps my posture. I don't have a lot of back pain so that was not the issue, I actually wanted something to help keep me from slouching and to tone. I can't say it produces dramatic results, but I am sure it helps.

I have been using one of these for at least 2 years. I do not need to go to the chiropractor (who told me about this) anymore due to pain from sitting at a desk all day. It was a lifesaver for me!

Used this for over 3 years. Strengthens core, balance. Be careful if someone unknowingly sits in your chair!
