I've had this chair for about 2 years, and I have finally come up with "proof" that this chair has been aggravating my back instead of helping it. The problem is that when it is reclined, you tend to slide down in the chair. This causes your back to become arched forward, which is the worst thing in the world for any back, especially one with major problems.
Anyway, I confirmed my suspicions by sitting in a regular chair for 30 minutes and then sitting in this recliner for 30 minutes. After each "sitting session" I would lay down on the floor and do a "cobra" stretch to see how stiff my back had become. The regular chair had no effect on the flexibility of my back, but after 30 minutes in this recliner, my back was stiff as a board. I'm getting rid of it just as soon as I can figure out what to do with it.

I have had lower back and neck discomfort for years. I could only sit and watch T.V. for a short period of time before I my spine/neck radiated pain.

I have been through physical therapy twice which helped but then the pain was back.
